Wholesome Banana Bread

Today I'm back with a recipe that won't make you have to watch the calories. I am giving you a recipe that's been in my family for years. Here are the instructions to make a wholesome, healthy, but not to mention taste banana bread.

I love having this for breakfast. It makes you feel like you're doing something good for your body. This recipe is filled with goodness. Bananas, whole wheat flour, walnuts, and chopped dates are just a few things that this bread includes.

Also, I'm pretty sure this recipe could not be any more easy. You can make it in one bowl. Just dump in all the ingredients and mix it. It's so simple. And it means not as much clean up after. Which is always a plus, no matter what people may say.

There's not much else to say. So, here's the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

1/3 cup brown sugar

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 1/4 cup mashed bananas (2 or 3)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup chopped dates

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 inch loaf pan.

Mix all ingredients except for walnuts and dates. Fold these in after all other ingredients are combined. Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
